Niklaserhof is a small, traditional family grower, focused on local grape varieties grown on 7 hectares of vineyards split between 17 different sites around Kaltern, in the south of the Süd Tirol / Alto Adige. This traditionally German speaking region is one of mountains and lakes, where warm, even hot summer days are tempered by cooler mountain air, producing wines that are fruit filled but have a lovely freshness to them too, making for wines that are perfect for drinking with food, and the food in this region is also well worth seeking out...

This Lagrein is dense, powerful, but elegant. Lovely with a forest mushroom pasta or polenta with mountain cheese.
