Villa Dora, Caprettone Vesuvio, Campania Italy

Villa Dora is a small estate on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, east of Naples, producing wines which elegantly and thrillingly express the unique grape varieties they grow and climate and volcanic soils of the region. 

This wine is made from Caprettone, one of the varieties used for the famous Lacrima Christi. Pressed and the fermented in stainless steel, then kept on lees for around nine months before bottling.

Aromas of green apple, jasmin, orange peel. On the palate there is a wonderful balance of fruit and a fine thread of acidity. 

Wonderful with salads or seafood, perhaps octopus or a meaty white fish.
