This excellent 7-hectare estate is situated in the village of Husseren and is run by Andre's son Christophe, who trained in Burgundy and Australia and who took over from his father in 1990. Winemaking has run in the family for over 200 years and Christophe is the 9th generation winemaker to take over the reins of the family estate.
A fantastic Gewurtz from the home of the grape- Alsace. One of the 4 'Noble' grapes, the others being Riesling, Pinot Gris and Muscat. These are the only four permitted to make grand cru wines in Alsace.
Expect the classic nose of rose petals and lychee, due to the very sunny microclimate of the hillside vineyard just south-west of Colmar, this is luxuriously rich with an off-dry quality. The wine is aged for 10 months in temperature-controlled century-old oak barrels providing structure and a little creaminess. Turkish delight in a glass!
