Partida Creus, VN Vinel.lo Tinto, Catalunya, Spain

Ex-architects Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerosa moved from Piedmont, Northern Italy to Catalonia to grow fruits and vegetables. They started Partida Creus in 2001 after struggling to find quality natural wine in the area. 

Unlike many producers nearby planting mainstream varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Massimo and Antonella took a chance on small parcels of relatively unknown old vines of regional varieties such as Sumo, Garrut, and Bobal. They farm without the use of chemicals and using sustainable practices, inspiring neighbouring vineyards to do the same. 

Organic grapes are manually harvested with whole bunch maceration fermented in stainless steel with natural yeasts. 

This is a light and fruity red, with aromas of cherries, raspberries and Mediterranean herbs. With gentle tannins on the palate and red fruit notes - it's easy-going and great for sharing with friends. Try it lightly chilled!
