This Gewurztraminer is from the highest altitude vines in the region at 350m above sea level. Odinstal's estate is based around a 19th century farmhouse and includes sparse meadows, a mixed forest as well as Andreas' trusty cows who know the land as well as him, grazing, controlling growth and providing compost and horns for the biodynamic preparations, all created on site. Biodiversity is key here and Andreas uses flowering cover crops between vine rows to encourage insects, birds and soil health as well as using herbal teas to minimise use of copper.
