Who - Miras - Marcelo  and Pablo Miras
Where - Alto Valle del Rio Negro, Patagonia, Argentina
What - Red wine - Trousseau (aka Bastardo)
When - 2021
How - Organic. Vegan. Old vine Trousseau (one of the red grapes of France's Jura region) from the sandy soils and extreme climate of Patagonia, in the south of Argentina. Manual harvest, destemmed, spontaneous fermentation in steel.

Marcello Miras has been involved in wine production from a young age and while Miras was created initially to make wines just for the family, after working for a few larger wine companies, Marcello went back to his family vineyards to make wine on a smaller, more hands-on scale. Situated in southern Argentina, with a very dry and mild continental climate, the vineyards are better suited to grape varieties like Trousseau which are happier in cooler sites. This wine is bright and fruity, well balanced with a long finish. Great with oily fish, grilled meats and strong cheeses.
