The co operative of Cellar de Capçanes has been harvesting their collective bounties for decades and then Juergen Wagner stumbled across them and he realised the wine world needed to try what they had. The village of Capçanes lies in the Montsant region of Tarragona and it’s fair to say Montsant is giving its neighbouring Priorat a run for its money and the wines of Cellar de Capçanes is most certainly in that race.
The wine is produced using the saignee method which means the juice is run from (or bled) from the red wine tanks, this means the juice has had skin contact with some very big flavours and this is definitely noticeable with this wine.
Rose-violet in colour, vibrant fruit flavours of strawberry and raspberry. Perfect for every picnic.
