Whilst holidaying around the Cathar country, getting suitably castled up in the Pyrenees, we were tipped off that Blanquette de Limoux was the only fizz worth drinking and that Maison Antech was the producer to trust. They certainly did not dissapoint and lucky for us they have a label unique to the UK market that honours sixth generation Antech, Françoise who's been pushing the domaine further into organic and sustainable practices for both their land and their community.

This legendary estate, Maison Antech whose unique terroir is defined by their position in the foothills of the Pyrenees and their proximity to the Mediterranean coast. It’s currently run by the 6th and 7th generation of the Antech family who recently converted to organics in 2020 and take a minimal intervention approach in the cellar to best represent their terroir. The Blanquette de Limoux is their signature fizz, using 100% local grape variety, Mauzac with the traditional (champagne/cremant) method. Extended lees ageing brings an added toasty complexity to Mauzac’s orchard fruits and citrus. Bright, mouth watering and mineral.
