La Comarcal, Delmoro Tinto, Valencia, Spain

La Comarcal is a collaboration between Javi Revert and his friend Victor Marques who met whilst working at another one of our Valencian favourites and amphora enthusiasts, Celler del Roure. La Comarcal means 'The District' which refers to their mission to seek out unique plots and dedicated growers in their region championing local grapes, natural yeasts and neutral vessels in order to bottle the unique places and moments in time they create the wine.

The Delmoro tinto is a bright and juicy blend of Garnacha and Syrah from organic certified vineyards around the village of Venta del Moro. Fermentation is with wild yeasts in stainless steel and 30% whole bunch before the Syrah is transferred to concrete tanks for eight months to age, while the Garnacha remains in steel. They are then blended, unfined with a light filtration and just a smidge of sulphur is added.

Expect crunchy red fruits with mediterranean herbs and some florality. Super juicy with mouthwatering acidity and a light tannin structure. Great lightly chilled.
