What - Orange Wine - Zibibbo (Moscato d'Alessandria)
How- Zibibbo grown on the sandy volcanic soils of the island of Pantelleria, spontaneous fermentation on open top fermenters, on skins for a week before being transferred to amphora to finish fermentation and for six months ageing. Biodynamic. Vegan. 

Paola and Massimo are live and farm in Livorno, Tuscany where they also make wine but a holiday on Pantelleria, where they fell in love with the sights, sounds, smells and gastronomy of the island, led them to recover an hectare of old Zibibbo vines and start making wine there too. 

The relatively short period on skins, the ripeness of the fruit and the extended ageing in amphora means this orange is paler in colour and less grippy than some but it is no less complex with aromas of bergamot, herbs and a lovely, almost marine feel. Beautiful with food: oily fish, fresh ricotta.
