Eraldo Viberti, Barolo DOCG, Piedmont, Italy -
This is a small family farm of about six hectares divided into three different kind of production: two hectares dedicated to Dolcetto, two to Barbera and two to nebbiolo grapes for Barolo wine. All the vineyards are located in La Morra, in the little village of Santa Maria where the cellar, called Prima, is situated. Up until 1987 Eraldo gave all the grapes to the local cooperative wine growers’ association.
Since 1987 vintage, he has started to produce his own wine. The starting point of this great adventure is based on Eraldo’s parents’ values: respect for the land and the work linked to tradition.
This is serious Barolo - intense, full bodied tannic and persistent with aromas of wild berries and sweet spices. Ages in barriques for at least 24 months. Great with stewed meats, game and aged cheeses.

Remelluri, Remelluri Reserva 2016, Rioja, Spain -
Remelluri is one of Rioja's iconic producers. Now run by Telmo Rodriguez, Rioja's greatest ambassador and one of Spain's greatest winemakers, the bodega's vineyards all lie together in one space in Rioja Alavesa, tucked up against the Sierra Cantabria. Traditionally they also bought grapes from two neighbouring villages, Labastida and San Vicente, and these were used in the main blend but now these grapes are made into separate blends.
This wine is the flagship of the Remelluri estate, made mainly from Tempranillo, with smaller portions of Garnacha, Graciano, Viura and Malvasía. It is aged for 17 months in barrel and released after a minimum of three years in the cellar. The result is rich and savoury, with dense colour, an attractive nose of earthy red fruit, and fine-grained tannins.

La Niverdiere, Renaissance 2019, Chinon, Loire, France -
Martine Budé has been making wine in Chinon , Loire, France since 2015. Her wines demonstrate all that’s great about natural wines - purity, energy, charm, and an undeniable expression of place and time, fruit and soil.
This wine, Renaissance, was grown on limestone, gravel, clay soils giving a more approachable, easier driving style of wine. She ages in concrete eggs rather than your usual Chinon oak. The result is a wine that is beautifully mature, with floral notes on the nose, touches of herb and brambly, smoky, developed flavours on the palate.
