Delaforce, Fine White Port, Douro, Portugal

Delaforce has been a name in Port production since the 1830’s and although the original family is no longer involved it is now owned and run by Real Companhia Velha, which has over 250 years of uninterrupted activity in the Port wine trade. White Port isn't a style often seen, particularly outside Portugal, but in the summer it makes a very refreshing drink, chilled with perhaps a slice of orange peel and made longer with some soda, and in the colder months it is a lovely after dinner drink. Something to linger over.
