Cascina Adelaide, Barolo "4 Vigne" DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Amabile Droco purchased an old farmhouse with accompanying vineyards in the heart of Barolo in 1999 with the ambition to own land in each of the Barolo cru to show off the diversity of the terroir.  He has since built a state of the art, gravity fed winery and assembled a top winemaking team to form Cascina Adelaide where they create deliciously complex Barolo's.

No herbicides are used on the vines and everything is tended to by hand. Amabile uses native yeasts and minimal sulphur in fermentation allowing the resulting wines to speak for themselves. 

The "4 Vigne" is taken from four different parcels across Barolo. All Nebbiolo, aged in french oak for 30 months. Classic garnet colour with plum, wild blueberry cinnamon and liquorice on the nose with elegantly fused tannins.
