Bret Brothers, Climat "Les Crays" 2022, Mâcon-Chardonnay, Burgundy, France
Brothers, Jean Philippe and Jean Guillaume Bret removed their family vineyard in the Macon from the local co-op in 2000, in order to establish Domaine de la Soufrandière. They have since converted to organic and biodynamic farming across their sights and are now making some of the most exciting wines in the Mâconnais.
In 2001 they created Bret Brothers, the negociant side for which they buy top quality organically farmed grapes from 40+ year old vines in small plots in the best sites in the Mâcon. All the vineyards are hand harvested by their team, vinified using natural yeasts, matured and bottled in house, with the same care and attention to detail as their estate wines.
Taken from a small parcel in the Mâconais, this white Burgundy is aged mostly in steel with 20% aged in oak barrel before being blended to create a super food friendly wine, fresh and citrus driven with a creamy mouthfeel and taut acidity.
