Bosco Sant'Agnese is obsessed with their yeast! They pay maniacal attention to the indigenous yeasts present in the grapes, considering it the only substance in the world capable of turning a wine into an excellent wine. Nestled in the historical region of Irpinia, Campania, Cantina Bosco Sant'Agnese are rediscovering forgotten native grapes such as Piedirosso, Barbera del Sannio and Coda di Volpe as well as experimenting with a hectare of Greek vines they've recently planted with their first harvest in the autumn of '22. They have just five hectares of vines of which the entire management of the vineyard and the processing of the grapes is taken care of by Bosco's head honcho with some assistance from Mr Antonio. They are doing so with great respect for the full life cycle of their land with biodynamic agricultural practices where the only substance they are using is tiny ammounts of sulphur dioxiode. They wines are all made without filtration and with great patience!

The Federiciano is a single varietal of native Campanian grape, Piedirosso which is usually found in regional blends to add softness and complexity. It is an ancient, black-skinned grape known as 'red feet' due to its unique russet coloured, dove-foot-like stems and creates a dark red colour. Aged in stainless steel and without filtration, this wine is sumptuous and silky with notes of red cherries alongside herbal aromatics of oregano and pink peppercorns.
