Juan Antonio Ponce farms a network of old vineyards, all managed biodynamically, in the sparsely populated and, even for Spain, empty region of Manchuela, south east of Madrid, inland from Valencia. Juan focuses on Bobal, a local grape variety that hangs onto freshness in the heat and makes wines that have a thrilling balance of fruit, finesse and minerality.

P.F. is a new wine for us. Made from grapes grown on an 85 year old, pre-phylloxera vineyard of ungrafted vines. Whole bunch macerated with spontaneous fermentation in old oak, then 11 months ageing in 600 litre old French oak. The wine is intensely aromatic and concentrated.
