Big name in the Dão, Alvaro Castro grows native varieties in the granite dominant soils of the region around 500m above sea level where the days are sunny and the nights are cool, creating the perfect place to grow grapes destined for fresh and aromatic wines. 

This is mostly a field blend of native varieties with a distinct 30% portion of Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro. Grapes are grown organically, hand harvested and fermented in granite lagares before spending three winters in Allier oak barrels prior to bottling. 

Expect a well structured yet intensely aromatic wine with notes of cracked pepper, violets, rose petal and orange zest alongside dark fruits.
