We’re always on the lookout for new wines for the shelves and website, and to pour at GlouGlou and PetitGlou. Often this means solo trips by one of us to events in London (oh for a faster, reliable and cheaper rail service!) or, a few times a year, to visit growers aboard and learn from them first hand on their own turf.
But pretty much every day we taste wines as individuals and almost every week we taste as a team. It’s great to share opinions on wines we might sell, keep track on wines we already do (real wines evolve and change over time), share knowledge and enjoy spending a little time over something we all love. It’s easy to get distracted by the day to day, dealing with the essential but dull issues of retail and hospitality, and lose sight of wine, the centre of our Glouniverse and the reason why we do this thing.
As a result, our range is ever changing, reflecting the season, the weather, vintages that have recently been released, wines that have got a little forgotten but when tasted we remember why we bought them in the first place and get excited about them all over again…
You won’t find laminated plastic lists at ours. Just a great team keen to find the perfect glass for you.
