Wine 101 - the GlouGlou crash course on wine. A four part introduction to the essentials - Autumn Term '23

This four week course, hosted by our wine programme manager Ruari, will introduce you to how wine is made, where it comes from and what influences the way it tastes. And, of course, each session will include tasting a few examples to illustrate the theme. 

Learn a little to help you enjoy your wine more!

The course will be held at GlouGlou, our wine bar on Castle Gates, over four consecutive weeks starting on Thursday 14th September, and each session will run for around an hour, from 6.30pm to 7.30, though you are welcome to arrive early and stay later for another glass or something to eat.

Each week will have a different theme and you can book for just one, £12.5 per session, or the whole series for £40. 

Session one, 14th September - From the vine to the wine. How wine is made. 

Session two, 21st September - Oh, the places they grow! Terroir and all that jazz. 

Session three, 28th September - Vines with history. Stories from the Old World.

Session four, 5th October - The shock of the new. Wines of the New World and a  look into the future of wine.
