Tenuta Olim Bauda, Barbera d'Asti, DOCG, La Villa, Piedmont, Italy

Siblings Dino, Diana and Gianni took back control of their family farm in the Piedmont hills from a management company as soon as they were old enough. They have been tireless in their efforts to improve quality across the board, whether that is with the crops they are growing, the forestry they own or, their main business, their vineyards.
They own vines in various sites across the region and make the famous, sometimes infamous Moscato d'Asti (theirs is worth drinking, light, fresh and delicately sweet, so we sell it!) as well as reds made from Barbera, a grape often underrated but capable of making great wines.
This Barbera is a blend of grapes from a few sites and made to be fruit forward, chunky but not burly, and the perfect accompaniment to some food - pasta with truffles (the Olim Bauda estate is blessed with a natural crop...) or some salumi.
