La Grange aux Belles, Chausee Rouge, VDF, Anjou, France

In 2004 Marc Houtin and Julien Bresteau created La grange aux Belles but it would be another 10 years before they realised their true potential and the reality that the French wine industry isn’t always right! They were constricted in their natural approaches and found that the AOC of Anjou in the Loire wasn’t favouring a more natural approach and wasn’t allowing them to showcase their wines to their true potential.

Hand harvested Cabernet Franc and Grolleau that has undergone a 10 day carbonic maceration, it is aged in fibreglass before an early bottling, this keeps the fruit fresh, supple and super drinkable.
